Complete Peanuts 1950 - 1952

I'll admit I was really never much of a Peanuts fan growing up. Sure I'd seen all the tv specials but I don't think I ever even really read the strip. I preferred the more off the wall humor of Gary Larson (The Far Side).

In recent years since I've been getting into comic strips more and more. First it started as trying to find a substitute to fill the void left by The Far Side. Then it was trying to soak up as many comics as possible for reference in an attempt to create my own.

The more I got into comics the more Charles Schulz kept coming up and everyone was referring to him as the master.

Luckily for me The Complete Peanuts is being released in chronological order in hard cover volumes that span 2 years each. I picked up the first volume during boxing day (Sweet 30% off...had to resist buying more).

The First Peanuts Strip

I'm about 6 months into this first book and it's fantastic. I've barely scratched the surface but the first strip was the one that got me hooked.
