Pale Force
Jim Gaffigan and Conan O'Brien have teamed up to create the super hero duo Pale Force who's special powers come from being really white.
New episodes air on Friday's on Late Night. Past episodes are available* at the Pale Force site at NBC.
Also this Friday night's Late Night is going to be an "all-skeleton" episode re-created from a show last May. Guests include Larry King, Omar Epps and Sheila Kelley
*I can't figure out how to get it to play, all I can see is the stupid Sprint advertisement that plays before it. If anyone can figure out how to view the episodes on NBC's site please drop me a line. Until then...to the YOUTUBE!!

A Piece of American History For Sale

Hello, Nation! In celebration of his show's first anniversary, Stephen Colbert is auctioning off his highly valuable, extremely realistic portrait that currently hangs above the fireplace on the set of Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report."
Who wants to go halves? It can stay at my house Monday, Wednesday, Friday and alternating Sundays.

Map of Springfield
This is just ridiculous. Look at the detail.

I feel like a person with too much time on my hands by just looking at this map. I can't imagine what kind of time you would have to have on your hands to put something like this together.

Animotd - Animation of The Day
Adam Phillips is pretty ambitious, he's releasing an animated short every day over at his site Biteycastle. He's placed only two constraints on himself; it must be under 10 seconds, and under 200k.

Excellent work and will now will be part of my daily surfing routine.

Deep-Fried Coke
I often hear people saying, " Sure X is good, but have you tried X deep-fried" - Replace X with any conceivable food; cheese, turkey, mars bars, etc.
I can't say this has ever crossed my mind.
Gonzales deep-fries Coca-Cola-flavored batter. He then drizzles Coke fountain syrup on it. The fried Coke is topped with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry. Gonzales said the fried Coke came about just from thinking aloud.

Mmmmm....Angioplasty inducing.

300 Trailer to Comic Comparision
Solace In Cinema has taken the time to match up the screen shots from the trailer of 300 to panels in the comic. While not as obsessive a Sin City, 300 appears to be extremely close to the book.

300

Check out the trailer for Frank Miller's 1999 Graphic Novel 300 about The Battle of Thermopylae.

From what I've read it was done just like Sin City (also Frank Miller). Be sure to check out the production blog and video journals which has some really interesting stuff.
Also the song in the trailer is Nine Inch Nails - Just Like You Imagine from the Fragile (just so it doesn't drive you crazy like it did to me the entire way through The Departed).

Comic Later Today
No comic this morning, hopefully I'll be able to get it up later tonight. It's close to being finished, I wasn't satisfied with the wording so I decided to take a break last night and watch Heroes and Studio 60. I might have to start doing the Tuesday coming on a different night than Monday.
A couple great DVD releases this week that will put a nice little dent in the pocket book.

Penguin Hunt
There was a time when I liked penguins. I went to the theatre to see March Of The Penguins and aside from the lemurs the penguins were the best part of Madagascar
. But sadly those days are gone.
Happy Feet - A Musical with Robin Williams playing multiple characters - Oh Joy!!

and now Surf's Up - Surfing Penguins - Do you really need to know anymore? Hang six!! oh wait..it's A True Story?

Is it just me or do we need to initiate a Penguin Hunt to drive the population of these little buggers back down to a respectable level.
